“In its February 27, 1977 edition the Ridgewood Sunday News celebrated much earlier times in Ridgewood sports history by printing a photo of the Ridgewood Police Department Baseball Team managed by William Wehrell.  The article claimed that the “crack baseball team” played “around 1910.”  A copy of the photo was attached.  It had been acquired by the paper years later.  It is  unlikely from what we know about other events in Grandpa’s life that his team was playing with him as a member and manager in 1910, but I have copies of articles published by the Paterson Morning Call in 1913 and 1914 about Ridgewood’s Police Department Baseball Team, about its winning ways, and about its winning manager, William Wehrell.  To those who can guess which player in the picture is Grandpa, I shall send by email a scanned copy of the photo.”

Photos from reunion

I am posting some photos of the reunion. We all had an enjoyable time getting reacquainted with the cousins we don't normally see.

I would like to than Laurie and her son Titus  for supplying the photos, as well as Lynette and Judy. There were lots of photos taken if you have some not here please send them to me and I will gladly post them to the blog.
