As Grandma’s grandchildren an important factor in the life of all the cousins was the multitude of Jackson women who were sisters and sisters-in-law to Grandma. They were our Great-Aunts. Two of her sisters were maiden great aunts. Aunt Lil and Aunt May lived in Midland Park on Cottage Street in the big house that James Jackson built sometime between 1911 and 1914 to house his large family. When he died in 1919, his wife Jane, assumed ownership of the house until she passed on in 1933, leaving the house to Aunt Lil and May. In the following years other great aunts came to live in the house when they were widowed, and all were a factor in the lives of Grandma’s sons and their children growing up in the town close to Midland Park.
In this picture taken at the 1968 wedding of Glenn and Linda Jackson three of the great aunts are seated to the right of the groom standing. Who can identify the three great aunts?
